May 31st: Tech It Out 3:00-4:15pm

Hang out, mess around and geek out with sphero, snap circuits, little bits, 3doodler and more! Create and build your own projects or get instructions from the teen librarian if you haven’t used the Tech It Out equipment before. No sign up necessary!

June 7th: Coding with David Malik from Makerspace 307 3:00-5:00pm

David will lead us through some basic coding and electronic projects using arduino. No experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Limited to 10 participants so sign up soon! (Sign up begins May 26th).

June 21st: Art in the Courtyard 3:00-4:14pm

Hang out in the courtyard of the Library and create some art pieces based upon our summer theme: Build a Better World. All materials provided. No sign up necessary.

June 28th: Author Visit w/ Angel Allendale 3:00-4:15pm

Angel has published her first young adult novel, Absolute Awakening. Angel will share information about her book, her life as a writer and her passions and interests. No sign up necessary. Drawing for prizes after the event.

July 12th: Board Game and Card Game Hangout 3:00-4:15pm

Got a favorite game? Want to learn a new game? Join us for a fun gaming hang out. Bring your own games or join in with others. Refreshments provided, no sign up necessary.

July 19th: Cupcake Wars 3:00-4:15pm

It’s our annual battle of the frosting! Teams of 2 can sign up to compete in this fun and creative cupcake decorating contest. All materials are provided. Sign up begins July 3rd. Space is limited!

July 26th: End of the Summer Movie 3:00-5:00pm

It’s the last event of the summer. Let’s kick back with our friends, watch a movie and eat some snacks to celebrate all our reading accomplishments. Movie TBD. No sign up necessary. Refreshments provided. Drawing for prizes after the movie.

Children age 12 and under, including toddlers.

Kids are asked to read (or be read to) any book of choice, and record every 20 minutes they read on a provided reading log.  Upon completion of the reading log, each child will receive an invitation to a special night program.

We will also have one weekly program that all summer reading participants are able to attend.

Drawings will be held each week for fun gift cards. At the end of each month, a winner will be chosen for a “dinner and a movie” bundle. All you have to do to join the fun is register, read a library book or CD book, fill out a review card and put it in the drawing jar; It’s easy!

At the end of June, most books read by a teen will win a “White Wave Bamboo Longboard”.

At the end of July, most books read by a teen will win a “Fujifilm Mini Instant Polaroid Camera with Case and extra film”.


Every Monday from 6-7 pm during the months of June & July – Yoga Happy Hour

You must pre-register for this class.  First 10 teens & 10 adults to sign up will receive a free colorful yoga mat!  Age: 13 &up

Saturday, June 10th – Refashioned: Upcycle Workshop 1-2 pm

Turn your recyclable into art & fashion.  Bring your own recycled good or use ours.  Age: 13 & up.

Saturday, June 24th – Environmental Graffiti 1-4 pm

Meet at high Plains Art Gallery, downtown Riverton, and prepare to embark on an all-natural, graffiti tagging experience,  We will be using stencils, power washers, mud, and natural dyes.

Thursday, June 29th and Thursday, July 13th – Garage Band Music Festival 6-8 pm

Riverton Library Garage.  Drop in any time between 5 and 8 to jam out with fellow musicians.  Age: 13 & up.

High Plains Gallery, downtown Riverton.  Owner, Danny Brown, will be helping you mold Wyoming clay into small works of art through unique hand building techniques.
