Friends of the Library
Each library facility has its own Friends group. Friends operate independently, but each has the same mission: to serve as advocates and provide program and financial support to the local library. And more importantly, to have fun doing it!
Lander Library Friends Association (LLFA)
Scott Greenig at work on the Lander Library muralOn Oct. 22, 2010, artist Scott Greenig worked on a panel for the mural he is creating for the Lander Library. The mural will include ten panels, depicting different scenes and historic figures from around Fremont Count. The panels will be installed on the trey ceiling over the library’s adult section. The mural is scheduled to be completed in 2011.The Friends work in cooperation with the library on activities such as raising donations and assisting with special events. The Book Nook is currently open Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:00. LLFA also sponsors “Reading Wyoming”, an annual Wyoming Humanities Council Book Discussion Group.One meeting is held annually for all members, with the board meeting monthly. Dubois Friends
Meet at 2 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month, September through May, Dubois Branch Library. Annual Membership is $10 Individual, $20 Family, $50 Business, $200 Lifetime Individual Member.
Riverton Friends
“Book Adoption” events are the first Wednesday of every month from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. There are also special Saturday events. The next one is April 20th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Riverton Library.
The Friends meet at 10 a.m. on the last Wednesday of every month at the Riverton Branch Library. Annual Membership is $5.00. For more information contact the Riverton Library or the Friends president Judy Wilson at 856-7140.
